Most network designs for small offices are fairly simple these
days, an adsl router and a switch is all that you need. Things have a habit of
getting complicated very quickly and there are often many different ways of
achieving the same thing. We implement a number of different solutions which
can meet all of your needs. Below is a small selection of the services we
supply that fall into the network design and installation category
VPN's - these are used in two main situations , branch offices and home users
Cabling - We can install and test Cat5 Cabling to link everything together. We
can also provide wireless networks, where cabling isnt a viable option.
Resilience - We provide a number of our client with load balancing connections
to the internet.

ADSL is the standard method for connecting small businesses and
home users to the internet. We can provide a variety of different packages from
the entry level 512Kb download speeds up to the ADSL Max 2 with up to 8Mb
download speeds and 832Kb upload speeds.
We also supply routers and management tools to make sure that your internet
resource is being used wisely.

SDSL provides up to 2Mb download speeds, and 2Mb upload speeds
with lower contention ratios than standard ADSL lines, so if you use a lot of
upstream bandwidth for VPNs or remote mail access then an SDSL line will
greatly improve your throughput.

FireWalls and NAT routing

Connecting your company to the internet is simple, all you need
is an ADSL line and a router. If you dont manage this vital resource though, it
can provide a hacker access to your vital information. Firewalls are used to
prevent external users from connecting to things that shouldn't be available to
on your internal network.
The most simple implementation of a firewall is to use a NAT router - this
hides all of your internal workstations from the internet
More advanced Routers can also be used to prevent internal PCs from accessing
different resources on the internet. A good example is blocking MSN traffic
If you want finer control and better reporting then we also use Microsoft's ISA
Server. This software that comes with SBS Premium provides the ultimate
protection for your network.

Domain Names Email and Web Hosting
|

Registration of an internet domain name is as essential as
having your telephone number in the telephone book. We register and more
importantly manage your domain name(s) for you. Don't register your domain name
directly with an ISP, there can be hidden charges and tieins, if you need to
move ISP later. We always register .co.uk and .com domain names using different
registrars, that way if there is a problem with one domain, it won't affect the
other one.
Once you have your domain name you will need somewhere to host your email and
web site. Again if you have opted to use the Microsoft Small Business Server
software, you already have everything that is needed and we will configure
everything for you.
